Bringing Community Empowerment through the Expression of Conscious Creative Arts to Underserved Communities

RE:ACT promotes strategies and concepts to inspire personal growth and collective responsibility through training, performance activities and learning, utilizing statistical information and personal stories to develop creative and artistic practices that instill an awareness of adverse social contracts and policies.

RE:ACT makes available a comprehensive artistic support program, development activities, and other meaningful services to assist individuals, groups and businesses to develop and produce professional and socially conscious artistic works and initiatives.

Theatre Arts & Creative Action

Structured learning and practice sessions that teach the basic building blocks of performance craft, storytelling and collaborative processes.  

Sessions aim to encourage and empower individual awareness, community advocacy and social activism through:

Artistic expression, Exploration of social narratives, Creative awareness, Healthy practices for communication and reflection.

Community Development

& Workshops

Structured community service placements and artistic learning/skill-building opportunities for youth and adults to share their time and talents by providing tangible support in their communities, neighborhoods and schools.

Individual & Group Training 

Individual and group activities geared towards identifying the participant’s and/or community’s voice, understanding the appropriate medium of expression and the development of collateral materials such as script, stories and performance outlines.

College Preparation & Mentorship

Peer-to-peer, adult-to-youth and other viable apprenticeship opportunities to assist in forming and applying an outlined road map to success in education and the performance arts.  

Production &

Performance

Fully rehearsed and staged productions and performances are facilitated as expressive outlets.  Performance subject matter, participants and audiences represent participating communities and serve as the heart for community discussion, planning and problem solving.

Productions engage participants in not only performance but  also stage management, directing, stage and costume design, sound and light design as well as playwriting.
